Mr. Kazuo Tanaka studied industrial design at the School of Design of the Faculty of Fine Arts, National University of Fine Arts and Music in Tokyo until 1983. He is president of the GK Industrial Design Inc. and thus follows Kenji Ekuan, who has made himself a name internationally in the field of industrial design. Kazuo Tanaka elected president of Japan Industrial Designers Association (JIDA) in 2011 and continues carrying out variety of activities now. Kazuo Tanaka is a guest lecturer at several universities, among them the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, the University of Tokyo, and the Waseda University. In 2007, He was elected member of the board of directors of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) and since then has further extended his international activities. He is currently a regional adviser of ICSID, and a board member of the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) which runs the Good Design Award.
