Design is a solution driven mindset that enables innovative, user-centric and sustainable solutions for tackling the myriad of challenges faced by our societies today, while also improving our overall well-being. Constant and disruptive social, environmental and technological forces are making the world we live in more complex and volatile than ever before. This is especially true in Asia, whose condensed urban problems and growing international influence are giving rise to a new era of challenges that only human-centred design can solve.
The DFA Awards aims not only to promote design excellence, but also to provide platform for design thinking sharing. The Asia Tour 2019 in the format of Design Dialogue, Pop-up Store or Exhibition, has started to promote the design thinking and design excellence by Asia design projects as well as to arouse the awareness of entry submission of DFA Design for Asia Awards and to promote the winners of DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award to the industry.
With support of DesignSingapore Council, judges of DFA Design for Asia Awards, winners of DFA Design for Asia Awards 2018 from Singapore and Thailand and awardee of DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award are invited to share their design thinking and their views on "Design for Propagating Asian Values".
In collaboration with kapok, a lifestyle shop offering a variety of internationally sourced future classics, a 3-month pop-up store in Singapore featuring the DFA Awards winners will be kick-started with an opening party to be held after the Design Dialogue at 19:30-20:30 at kapok NDC.
