As an architect, Angelene has led the successful completion of numerous notable projects that places DP Architects and Singapore on the map. Her design philosophy is rooted in her belief in the qualitative nature of architecture, and she applies this to her projects, big and small. How a single-family home is designed around the needs of its inhabitants, in the same way, a large mixed use commercial development or even a factory for its workers. She pursues an architecture driven by its users and sensitive to its context and environment, creating spaces that are meaningful and enriching. This approach gives Angelene the agility as a designer, by putting the users needs first, over any overarching style.

Angelene’s disposition and belief in architecture has guided the way she designs and manages projects, which have won design awards including the prestigious President*s Design Award and the Singapore Institute of Architects Architectural Design Award. Angelene is a respected figure in the architecture community and sits on the board of the Urban Redevelopment Authority, where she also chairs their Design Advisory Committee. She is also on the board of Building and Construction Authority, Singapore Land Authority and Sentosa Development Corporation. Angelene has served on the Singapore Board of Architects from 2016 to 2021 and the Professional Engineers Board from 2019 to 2021. Recognised as a thought leader, she is often invited to speak and judge at international conferences and seminars where she shares her aspiration for design and the built environment.
