Annette Gigon graduated from the ETH Zurich. In 1989, she founded the office Gigon/Guyer Architects in Zurich, Switzerland together with Mike Guyer.

Gigon/Guyer Architects has attracted international attention with museum projects such as the Kirchner Museum in Davos, the Museum Extension Winterthur, Museum Liner in Appenzell and the archaeological museum and park in Kalkriese near Osnabrueck, Germany.

In addition to other museum buildings such as the Swiss Museum Transport in Lucerne, they have extended their devotion also to residential architecture and office buildings, such as the office high-rise Prime Tower in Zurich or the Würth Haus Rorschach with its Art Forum and the Löwenbräu-Areal in Zurich, with its Arts Centre, Residential Tower and Office Building.

Annette has also been a visiting professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and at the ETH Zurich. She has been a professor at ETH the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich since 2012.

She was a member of Salzburg’s Advisory Urban Design Committee from 1997 to 2000. Since 2003 she is member of the Akademie der Künste (Academy of Arts) Berlin.

Gigon/Guyer Architects has been awarded many prizes within the country and abroad, including the Fritz Schumacher Prize in Germany, the RIBA Fellowship in Great Britain, and the Daylight Award, the highest endowed architecture prize in Switzerland.
